Zul’Gurub Vanishes in Cataclysm. Farm it!

This will take the mounts and pet with it.

Zul'Gurub is gone as a raid instance come Cataclysm. ~Valnoth

It was confirmed this week. Over 18 months ago I wrote a post on farming ZG for the mounts and mage book. The only change I would make is add a fourth goal...the pet

4. Razzashi Hatchling

Razzashi Hatchling

This pet sells for a lot of gold. But beyond that with the removal of the raid the mobs that drop this pet will vanish.

In the area of Bloodlord Mandokir are 3 packs of 6 Razzashi Raptors . Then just outside his area is a smattering of the raptors with trolls.

If you are there for the mounts I would highly recommend killing the raptors too. If you want to farm the pet *shiver* go to the raptors and kill them and reset the instance as many times as you want.

Me? I might just pay a fortune on the Auction House to pick myself up one. Or at least keep my eye out for one to resell after Cataclysm.

100,000 Gold Goal Reached

I dawdled in making the last few thousand gold to reach my personal goal of 100,000 gold by Cataclysm. I was not in a hurry because Blizzard has not even announced a release date for the expansion. Heck. There is not even a beta out yet.

Being completely lazy I just did things I knew I would make gold off of eventually and didn’t speculate so much.

I made the last few thousand off of the Tailoring Spell Power leg kits, Savory Deviate Delight, and Spices from cooking daily tokens. All materials were found on the Auction House. I only did the cooking daily if it was Cheese for Glowergold, or if I was adventurous because it gives two tokens Mustard Dogs!

I am not really a gold cap kinda gal. But really what more can a girl do next?

Ready for Winter Veil

This year I am relieved that I don't have do any holiday achievements. If I do any on a toon it is for the enjoyment and not for the meta achievement.

This year I have a personal Meta-achievement.

Prior to a holiday I am stocking up on a few goods that can be sold in the auction house. This way I can take advantage of all the impatient people who just want to BUY IT NOW.
For Winters Veil I have stocked up in Runecloth and Wool Cloth. If you remember last year I went and picked up the pattern from Orgrimmar for the Green Winter Clothes.

A day or so before the holiday started I made 20 each of the Green and Red Winter Clothes. I started the bid at about 65 gold. As expected they sold well.

I am almost sold out.Because I am on Alliance side the Red Winter Cloths have plummeted in price. I saw some up for 10 gold. There looks to be only one other seller for the Green Horde clothes.

I may have been able to make more gold on that first day. But I don't want to have a lot of stock returned from the auction house. So a 400% markup seems ... "fair" doesn't seem like the correct word.

Another thing I have been collecting for this Holiday was small eggs. I had a few stacks and on the first day sold them for 2-4 gold EACH. I highly recommend telling low level friends to go farm and sell these.

We should get a good few days of high prices from the auction house. I don't expect many will continue with the achievements at high prices after the 25th. Those are not the individuals you are selling too. Like all good merchants after the 25th you need to think about unloading your stock.

Hope your Winter Veil is profitable. *grin*

Hunter Makes Three (or is Horde always number one?)

I now have a third level 80. Moly the Hunter was brought up on PvP and late night questing. If I get to it I will regale you with the few world leveling PvP stories she has participated in. I stopped randomly questing at level 78. I enjoy leveling. Running around and gaining experience for leveling. But take out that... and I fail. I cannot seem to convince myself to quests for the sake of questing once I hit level cap. Only questing I do is to open flight paths, factions, special events, or reputation. I am at a loss to think of any more reasons I would.

Before I hit 80 I wanted to get a few things done...
Sons of Hodir reputation open for dailies,
Ebon Blade reputation open for tabard, and
Icecrown phased flight paths open.
I would have stopped questing once I dinged 80. But I was informed of the new epic Quel'Delar quest line. This will give 251 weapon as quest reward. All the details have yet to be known but I am sure one of the news sites will tell us soon. But rumor has it it is an extension to one of the long lines in Icecrown. Not knowing which one I am choising to do them all. (They could be telling me all of this to MAKE me quest, which is highly probable.)

Skinning and mining were my professions while leveling. I have made a lot of gold with the two gathering professions. Plus they don't clutter your bags while questing with materials for craftables.

Now at 80, I want to level a crafting profession. I think I am pretty set on swapping out my mining for Enchanting. I was going to keep mining instead of skinning for the high gold value of the profession. Truthfully I can never see myself farming mining nodes. I don't do that now on my Alliance server. I cannot see myself doing it Horde side.

Plus, so far my experience in raids has shown a low number of people actually having skinning in 5, 10, and 25 mans. Every corpse unskinned is gold left behind. I am there anyway and it KILLS me to leave that much gold rotting on the floor.

A friend gifted me with some epic gloves, wrists, and legging. I had a teary moment. Yes, I am weird. Poor Moly has never had much and has used what scraps a leveling toon can get. So getting all that at once was shocking.

Everyone should use it, so lets say it together...
www.raider101.com.

I went to the trainer and bought duelspecilization. Since I have yet to read a lot of detail information on huntering in raids, www.raider101.com is a perfect place to start.

Also I am specing into Survival for the first time. So as we all know as we should all take a moment to learn the new talents. THEN CHECK THE TRAINER AGAIN. I spend a bunch more gold learning abilities I have never had before.

A lot left to do before I deem Moly a raidable toon. Even so a while after dinging 80 she was in 5-man Heroic TOC. Were I picked up a new pair of epic gloves.

I am Beastmaster because ever since 3.0 added exotic pets I wanted a worm. Not any worm but a pokey pretty multicolored worm from Northrend. After a lot of complaints that I didn't name my worm after the first few levels of having him he was given the name Wiggles. Or more properly called Mr. Wiggles.

Now I will have to get some pets in order. I have all tenacity pets a bear, a boar, a gorilla, and a worm. I want a wolf and spider to diversify. I am planning to get the diseased wolf from Felwood. I have also been fond of the glass spiders. I may change my mind on the spiders, they make funny sounds.

That is what I have been doing for the last few weeks.
... long rambling post happens when I don't blog for a while (plus it is 2 in the morning). *grin*

Fifty Fifty of Fifty

*Hydra messes with Aurum's bags and post items on AH. Meanwhile, Husband munches on Hydra made cookies watching.*
[Husband] Does that say 50 thousand gold?
[Me] Maybe ...
[Husband] You have 50 thousand gold?
[Me] No, I do not.
[Husband] ... *Husband bites into cookie*
[Me] I have 65 thousand. *highlights over 50 thousand to see total gold*
[Husband] If we ever get a divorce, I am including your gold in the settlement. I get half.

Horde Pet Swap

I have been really lazy and have not kept you updated at all.

Did you know about Oath of Dressed to Cuddle came through for me??!!! He is my bestest warlock friend in all of Farstriders (even if he is Horde (and I am totally kissing up because he still has to come through for me again)).

Vent and the neutral auction house in Gadgetzan was used for a clean transfer of Alliance pets for Horde pets. I hear from Oath the pet tree druid has been a big hit.

Oath, I did see you in Wintergrasp but I was distracted by explaining the merits of NOT letting the Horde destroy all three towers. *sigh* I thank you for the quick death. Your pally is uber awesome for that.

I promised pictures. You will see that all pets are now apparently Gnome sized. WE ARE NOT PETS.

I really like the Sen’jin Fetish. First there is the very cool music that starts when you summon him. Then there is fact that each time you summon him there is a different mask! The Mulgore Hatchling is fantastic. He runs around like Egbert.I think the Enchanted Broom is great to sweep up after a raid wipe.I like the look of the Durotar Scorpion. It would have been fun to see him randomly lunge at people, but he does not.The flappy Tirisfal Batling...well flaps. That is it for the Horde pets. I wanted to compare the new bat with my Vampiric Batling. You can see the brown vs. the red color. Not long after we did the pet swap I caught from fishing in the sewers the Giant Sewer Rat. He is almost as big as Demora!Remember to love your pets, just don't LOVE your pets.

There is Gold in them thar Bags

I hit 76K. How I make my gold.To find what craftables I can sell at a profit by buying the mats off the auction house.

I use two addons for this task. First I use LilSparky's Workshop. And I use an accompanying auction house scanner. I use Auctioneer, but there are a lot of choices.

The goal is to NOT farm. But farm the AH for the mats and then craft that into a product you can sell for a profit.

This is my steady income.

From Tailoring I only make a few items. I am lazy so I stock up, crafting a lot at one time and then slow sell on the AH.

Mycah's Botanical Bag - 28 Slot Herb Bag
Brilliant Spellthread - leg kit, spell power by 50 and Spirit by 20.
Sapphire Spellthread - leg kit, spell power by 50 and Stamina by 30.

I sometimes make some of the Northrend shirts. I stopped doing that since the market was inconsistent. Not that it was unprofitable, but buyers were finicky.

I am still having trouble with getting rid of Frostweave Cloth. I will think of something. Bags are not good here since it is the primarily item made to level Tailoring. The bags typically go on the AH for less then the material value.

A huge chunk of the 76K was actually from Epic gems. I invested about 15K in Titanium Ore. After selling most everything I that was prospected form after the patch I got my 15K invested and 25K profit.

Occasionally I speculate on an item on the AH. Right now I am picking up Tankard O' Terror for around 1,000 gold or less. I figure this BOE 226 item level will be a hot item in a few weeks. I will easily get a lot for them once it is no longer available.

In an Epic Titanium World

When I was under 25 thousand gold I actually felt wow poor. Silliness I know. I run in groups that half the wow gold cap is the norm. At 40 thousand gold I not only have a Traveler's Tundra Mammoth have bought a chopper as a gift. I can now buy two more mammoths and have gold left over.I have surpassed my passive goal of 40 thousand gold. I continue to auction my normal tailoring items and reselling stacks of eternal into singles. But the last 15 thousand was from speculation on epic gems and new gear.

As soon as the announcement that epic gems will be available from Titanium Ore in patch 3.2 I started stockpiling. I bought ore in the auction house anywhere from 5 to 10 gold apiece.

When the patch 3.2 came out I had 1,860 pieces of ore to be prospected.I found a nice guildie Jewelcrafter who would prospect them for me. I told him I had a ton of ore. More specifically described as a bank tab full.
Ametrine 15
Cardinal Ruby 17
Dreadstone 17
Eye of Zul 12
King's Amber 17
Majestic Zircon 11

Autumn's Glow 26
Forest Emerald 17
Monarch Topaz 10
Scarlet Ruby 12
Sky Sapphire 19
Twilight Opal 11

Bloodstone 99
Chalcedony 94
Dark Jade 94
Huge Citrine 86
Shadow Crystal 79
Sun Crystal 103

Titanium Powder 272

I received 89 epic gems. Just under 4.8% of the ore produced epics. This was a lot higher then I expected.

I am not a JC and am only selling the raw gems. Some things I kept in mind.
  1. New emblem and instance gear will last for an estimated 5-7 weeks, then there will be less demand.
  2. I didn’t want to end up having to vendor the green gems. Sell them hard and fast.
  3. Vendor green gems are an option if AH doesn’t look to be working. (But have yet to.)
  4. Alchemists can transmute uncut superior gems to create epic gems.
  5. Epic gems will be high the first few days then drop below where they will norm out in a few weeks.
  6. Keep an eye out for sellers who will severely undercut for quick epic gem resell opportunities.
  7. Titanium Powder is a boon. Don’t undersell. People will be buying powder for a lot longer then the gear is going to be farmed from the ToC.
  8. Titanium Ore can now be sold for 15-16 gold a piece.
  9. I am already seeing a slowness in the gem market.
I recouped all my gold invested in this little adventure. In the first 48 hours I made over 4 thousand gold. Epic gems those first few days sold for 300-500 gold. I have only put up three gems each at a time. Same with the superior quality gems.

I have less then a stack of each of the green gems left. So far I am having luck at selling green gems at pre patch 3.2 prices.

It took me a day or two to realize that Titanium Powder was used for buying the epic JC patterns. A few stacks made good payment to my jewelcrafters as a thank you.

Now I am back to normal business. I don’t need to go for outside help. It was sure a wild ride.

*cast cast* Turtle MINE

Fishing, as you know, is one of my favorite past times. I fish to calm myself when I get annoyed. I fish when I am bored. I fish when I am busy. I fish listening to podcasts. I fish while chatting with friends. I fish when I just need something to clear my head.

I do a lot of fishing.

But so do my guildies!!! Congrats to one of my Pallies on winning the fishing contest in a little over 17 minutes. He mentioned Mr. Pinchy. I still needed that mini pet. All the fishing in BC I never got the chance. I did a few months ago get one. But no pet the the three chances. This time I headed over there and my first wish gave me the Magical Crawdad Box!

I enjoy doing the fishing dailies. I am still doing the Crocolisk in the City. I only have one of the three croco pets available.

All the random items that you get in your Bag of Fishing Treasures from the Dalaran fishing daily is great. Quite a bit of gold too, here are some of my favorites.

Deviate Fish is cooked to Savory Deviate Delight or made into Elixir of Giant Growth.
Pygmy Oil is made into Guru's Elixir.
Elixir of Water Walking is posted in AH just before Sunday’s Fishing Extravaganza.

The must read is dropped in the fishing bag too, A Steamy Romance Novel: Northern Exposure. MUST READ!!! *giggle fits*

My newest favorite is the Tiny Titanium Lockbox. Here is what I got in my first one.
Beyond all else I fish for mats for the Fish Feast for raiding. I help provide the mats to Husband for them so he doesn’t have to do it all. Lookie what I got!! (Oh and please note the T8 shoulders. I tend to not do lookie gear posts.)When you stand still on the Sea Turtle and jump the turtle mount tucks in his feet and head. It is a great addition to this great looking mount. *rides around in glee*

Kara Farming

Three of us have been going into Karazhan. We are there to kill Attumen the Huntsman and Midnight. There is a possibility of Attumen to drop the mount Fiery Warhorse's Reins.

With a tank to hold his attention, this was very easy. I don’t even remember taking any damage. Ok… I did… I forgot about the charge and stun. Once I reposition behind in melee, where I was suppose to be standing, it was easy.

No pony dropped.

Since we were there, I asked my Rogue if he was missing any of the enchants that drop in Kara. The only one was Formula: Enchant Boots – Surefooted. It only drops off Phantom Stagehands which are just before the Opera event.

At level 80 the three of us were able to walk pass and between most all the mobs to get to the Stagehands. I did pull some random mobs. I am not sure if it was my imp running through them or if I got to close. Either way it was easy to kill them and move on. I did make sure my imp was phase shifted in case that was the issue.

We got up to the Stagehands and kill one.

ONE.
Just ONE.
And the enchant dropped.

I didn’t see the mount drop or the enchant in ALL of Burning Crusade. It was nice to know the increased drop rate for the enchants in old world really did happen.

Discount at the Counter

Spring Break. Not mine, but players.

Any holiday brings out the sellers who quest and gather. They take those items toss them up on the auction house for "just want to get rid of prices".

Times like these I stock up on raw materials for raiding, selling, or later crafting. We are not talking much later to sell either. A week after a holiday and I can get a 50-100% profit.

Frost Lotus is the first on my list. In December I stocked up buying out any that was 6 gold or less. The going rate on my server is 17 gold. Nice little discount. I am looking forward to restocking and making a profit on that one item.

Hmmm... what else should I be looking for pre-3.1.

Farming Zul’Gurub

Three level 80s are farming the three bosses for the book and mounts. Zul’Gurub resets every three days. We make pretty quick work of it.

Zul’Gurub goals:
1. Tome of Polymorph: Turtle
2. Swift Razzashi Raptor
3. Swift Zulian Tiger

The turtle book sells for a lot of gold on my realm. I think the last on I saw up in the auction house was 1600 gold. Beyond that I am sick and tired of My Mages QQ (I know right?) about the dang thing.

Then the possibility of two different bosses having a potential to drop mounts. I saw the orange kitty and fell in love with the possibility. But heck if I am there why not try for the raptor too.

I truly believe as a warlock I can one man these bosses. But since I don’t see a direct gold benefit, except for the off chance the turtle book drops, I choose farm with friends and not to re-talent. Gahz'ranka and Bloodlord Mandokir are relatively easy to two man (Rogue and Warlock). High Priest Thekal was a challenge with two but easy with three.

Turtle Book

This nice BoE item drops off Gahz'ranka. There is less then a 15% chance for the book to drop.

To be able to summon this boss:
1. You have to pick up the quest by getting Nat’s Measuring Tape in ZG
2. Deliver it to Nat Pagle in Dustwallow Marsh.
3. Once at Nat Pagle, don’t forget to buy a Mudskunk Lure or two. They are not soulbound so you can hold a few on a storage toon if you don’t want to track over there to get another for a while.
4. Once back at ZG, fish five of the Zulian Mudskunk. Find Fish ability makes this really easy. The fish is also not soulbound again something you can pre farm if you wish, but take all of a minute and half to fish out.
5. Right clicking on the Lure with the five Mudskunk in your bags summons Gahz’ranka. This also gets you the achievement Deadliest Catch.

I am quite sure as a demonology warlock I could easily farm him myself. Felguard tank him and I kill him. Thinking about it maybe I will try the infernal.

Gahz hits for a bout 2K and has a knock back. The knock back deals damage and you also take fall damage. So fighting in the water is recommended. I suggest under the pretty waterfall.

For efficiency sake it is best to have two people to kill Gahz. Rogue and Warlock worked quite well. Rogue evasion tanked and I dotted. He vanished I kited. Then the boss died.

Our first trip there rewarded us with the Turtle Book. Which we wrapped up and I sent to one of the mages in guild. He has 10 level 80s in guild and is a character himself. I like him, even though not only is his main a mage… he has two… level 80 mages.

Swift Razzashi Raptor

The raptor mount drops off Bloodlord Mandokir. There is less then a 1% chance for his raptor to drop.

This can absolutely be 2-maned. We sometimes kill a few mobs around the base of the temple he patrols. If you have a real concern about the fears kill a few of the packs. You can PvP trinket out of the fears and I am sure the human racial. Honestly this is about time saving farming so unless we randomly aggro a pack we leave them alone.

Kill the Troll first and then kill his mount. Mandokir does whirlwind and AoE fear. If one person dies a ghost approaches and resurrects you. Nothing fancy needed at 80 it is a tank and spank.

Swift Zulian Tiger

The orange tiger mount drops off High Priest Thekal. Again there is less then a 1% chance for the tiger to drop.

Here you need to kill all the little tigers and trolls before the boss. They will come in and help the boss in the fight. The ax throwers have a nasty silence and stun. Focus on killing them first.

The trick to this fight is that the High Priest and friends, Zealot Zath (rogue like abilities) and Zealot Lor'Khan (shaman like abilities), have to die at the same time or they will resurrect each other. And have to be killed all over again.

A warrior, rogue, and lock had no problems killing the three of them at the same time. Twice actually. *cringe*

After the three die Thekal comes back as a weretiger. Kill him and loot.

Good luck!

Here Fishy Fishy Fishy

So while I was screaming at the cars going in circles. (I don’t think Jr meant to cause that accident, but his pre-race interview was worrisome. Jr looked tired and stressed, he didn’t have the confidence I expect from the top drivers. Tony looked good in the new car. Nice to see Clint finish in the top five. Not sure about the Logano kid, he does have a great team around him. Now back to WoW.)

Husband decided to fish and was rewarded for his efforts. He only won because I was not there.
Congratulations! One less person fishing out my tastyfish.

Catering Gone Wild

This just reaffirms that when you cater an event no one knows what it going on. The Convention at the Legerdemain daily cooking quest in Dalaran says to “provide 8 Northern Stew and a Jug of Wine” but they only really want four to complete the quest.Either way I am very glad they reduced it from 12 Northern Stew originally needed. I actually stopped doing this particular daily because the high cost of the mats to complete the quest. Not that I actually bought Chilled Meat, it was the in-stock and farming cost. I preferred to do only the quests that took a couple of chilled meat to complete. My stock lasted longer.

I also went and finished up my cooking. *Yeah for 450!*I maxed out cooking first with some Gigantic Feasts. I fished out the Deep Sea Monsterbelly and Rockfin Grouper out on the ice flows in Borean Tundra. I was annoyed with farming Chunk o' Mammoth. Thinking about it… I should have headed to Storm Peaks and not to Dragonblight. The mammoths are closer together. *shrug* Leaving all the carcasses around with no skinner got on my nerves.

I finished up my cooking with making Small Feasts. I put my fishing to use with Nettlefish in Sholazar Basin and the very yummy Glacial Salmon in Grizzly Hills. I did cheat and buy the Rhino Meat off the auction house. I only did this because it was 30% of the going price on my server. Any gold spent was easily made up in selling any extra fish I caught.
I am a little sad there are not recipes all over Northrend to go collect...I got over it quickly.

My Add-ons

“It would be nice if you'd make a post about what add-ons you are using. Could you do that?” –Jakob

WIT (Warlock-in-Training) Jakob asked this as a very nice comment. WIT Jakob is now called a WIT because he made me giggle. No worries Jakob we are all WITs.

Normally I would ignore and not answer. But decided that I could call WIT Jakob a WIT and that would make me laugh more. Plus he was not the first to ask. With add-ons post 3.0 out a while things have stabilized in the add-on area.

I use wowmatrix.com program to update all my add-ons. Some people do not like it, but I update two computers. During a big patch day this has saved me from taking things and throwing them out a window. It is up to your own research on if you like it to use it or not.

Before I use any add-on I go to the actually developer site or if not found to the download site. I scan issues, bugs, and last few update notes. This gives me an idea if it will be around for a while, currently being updated, if things are just getting refined, etc.

Presenting my very long list…

Interface:

XPerl – I love it. Having my toon, target, target of target shown below my character is something I have gotten very use too.
Chatter – An easy to use and modify chat window. Two things it does for me is the ability to copy text and change height and width easily.
RicoMiniMap – Gives me a square, can modify position, and I can change the size of the minimap.

Class Specific:

Necrosis (warlock only)– Gives me my most used warlock abilities a click or two away. I use it to make SS, stones, or summon my minions including other raid/party members. *grin*
Nudge (hunter) – Shows when my hunters are in range of target.
RuneWatch (death knight only) – To help me figure out how to play my Death Knight.

Tools During Battles:

Omen – Tank aggro here I come!
Proximo – Used in Arenas I am not as good as other players so this helps me keep track of who I am up against.
Recount – Damage meter to see my …well… damage.
Deadly Boss Mod – Yes. We know and love it for the dungeon and raids. I like it for battlegrounds also.
DotTimer – This is finally back to being as customizable as I liked it. I am constantly changing it a bit here and there. This is where my eyes are at in a fight.

Additional Info:

Fubar (+plugins) – I am not all that excited about. I used titan panel pre-wrath. I had it showing the gold I had on the current character and the drop down showed total. Currently I am looking at total gold, but I want only gold on the current toon shown. But over all not so bad.
Atlas & AtlasLoot – Atlas give me ingame dungeon maps…since I still get lost in Gnomeregon and Wailing Caverns.
Auctioneer Advanced –If Auctioneer suddenly no longer existed… I would seriously have to consider if I was going to continue to play WoW or not.
EasyMail – Empties my mail box with one click.
Enchantrix – It is part of the full Auctioneer suite. This tells me what things may disenchant into.
DoubleWide – Makes my quest pane into two larger easier to read areas.
TomTom – This shows me my coordinates when I am out and about. Used with LightHeaded and put a big arrow in the direction I should be going. I love this add-on.
LiveStock – Mount and non-combat pet randomizer. Really easy to use and highly recommend it.
RatingBuster – In game gear calculator, I use it as a guide for gear comparison. Only you can determine with your other gear if it is an actual upgrade.
Outfitter – Lots of fun for my toons. I wait till they are max level or gear has stabilized.
LightHeaded – wowhead.com in game. Partnered with TomTom (clickable blue coordinates) I can get less lost in questing.
TourGuide – I use this to level alts. Partnered with LightHeaded and TomTom the three make leveling easy.
LoggerHead – Turns on and off my combat log. Unfortunately I have it turned on somewhere over Theramore Isle and when I fly over it always turn on. I have yet been able to figure out how to fix that. Otherwise it does exactly what I need it to do.

...and I am still looking at some other add-ons.

Enchanting Mats Reduced 3.0.8

I have been choosing enchants on the cheap. Using Enchant Cloak – Speed for 6x Infinite Dust instead of the Enchant Cloak - Greater Speed for the 24x Infinite Dust and 12x Greater Cosmic Essence.

With how much enchanting mats were going for in the AH the +8 increase in Haste was not going to make a difference. But the gold will!

MMO Champion posted a list of the reduced price of the Wrath enchants in 3.0.8. With this change I will be upgrading all of my enchants.

So if you are leveling your enchanting wait until 3.0.8. But stock up on shards now, because they are reducing the drop rate on dream shards.

Truth. I have not sold one stack of infinite dust. Primarily because I was leveling my tailoring. I also helped others with their tailoring and the big one enchanting. I have only sold some GCE to make up the cost of some of the greens I buy and get DE into enchanting mats.

What am I going to do now? SELL SELL SELL.

I believe the current price of infinite dust is artificially high. With 3.0.8 we will have an increase in dust from Northrend greens (reducing the chance of shards) partnered with the reduced mats from enchants. Also right now the rush for leveling professions is tapering off. I suspect there will be a spike in dust prices (people re-enchanting) and then a stabilization to a lower point then the current price.

… but I maybe incorrect.

*sings* A little gold in my pocket. Right out of yours. A little gold in my pocket. So I can take more of yours. *hums some more*

Iron Boot Flask

In patch 3.0.8 the Iron Boot Flask is going to cost 250 Relic of Ulduar. If you want it and can pick one up now, buy it for the ten (10) Relic of Ulduar. It is a fun item.

My Tailoring so Far

375-385 I was able to make Mycah's Botanical Bag. With how cheep the mats were for me it was a nice easy way to level. Was a great hit with my crafter guildies. But that ended the “easy” stuff.

386-395 I tried Frostwoven Boots at 4x Bolt of Frostweave. But it was better to move on to the next higher item. I quickly started making Frostwoven Cowl at 5x Bolt of Frostweave. Everything got disenchanted.

… this absolutely killed me. I had to buy Eternium Thread for the first time. We went from rune thread at one gold to this fancy thread at THREE GOLD! When I started buying stacks I started having chest pains. Yes, I know you get a discount with factions you are exalted with...well there was this problem…
396-401 I made Duskweave Belts using 7x Bolt of Frostweave. It all got disenchanted.

402-406 I made Shining Spellthread and Azure Spellthread. I saved these since they let me make my tailor only Sanctified Spellthread for PvE and Master's Spellthread for PvP.

407-412 Was Duskweave Wristwraps using 8x Bolt of Frostweave... more disenchanted items.

413-417 I made Frostweave Bags. Most of our Tailors in guild did a deal for guildies, every 90 frostweave cloth would get you a bag. A few took us up on it. I personally gave them a bag even if they were short. Better then them just sitting in my bank or a discount on the full auction house.

418-424 I started making a set of the resilience gear for cloth wearers, Frostsavage. I am not sure how much I am going to wear of it. But at least I had it made and could pass it on to someone else if they would like pieces.

425 Was collecting mats for a very special item….I have a Magnificent Flying Carpet!… I should be able to fit six more people on this thing. Apparently only tailors have learned the art of surfing the rug.

426-437 I made more of the Frostsavage set and Frostweave Bags. I became exalted with the Argent Crusade I made a Brilliant Spellthread. Eternal Life I get from my herbalism so it is something I get easily. I made this not because anyone needed one made, but eventually someone will need one made. To get to 440 I will be making more of these for that very reason.

I still have a bunch of bags left. I may give them out as thank you gifts to my gem cutter and others that have helped me.

Na. That would be “Nice” and I try to avoid such things. *thinks* But if I give them a bag that I already have ... maybe they will continue to do nice things. I will have to evaluate the manipulative benefit of bag gifting.

Not the best way to do skill ups for tailoring. But I tried to utilize the resources I had at my disposal. For a long time the cloth was the limiting factor. At the higher levels it became the Infinite Dust.

Has it been worth it?

Tailoring really has not been a profitable profession. The best use I found has always been making bags. The second has been finding the patterns to use up the cloth that eventually becomes abundant and have it disenchanted to sell in the auction house.

I am not excited about the tailor only enhancements for backs. For warlocks they are quite unspectacular. I read them and immediately dismissed their usefulness to our class. If pressured, Lightweave Embroidery would be the only thing I would consider. Weak compared to getting the speed enchant on your cloak.

I like tailoring because it is a profession that is useful occasionally and then I can forget I have it. If you have it already and have some fun or rare patterns prior to Warth, I would keep it and level tailoring.

Would I recommend it for a new player or toon? No. There are other professions that give you more of a benefit. Even the three gathering professions give you an actually benefit. Wowwiki.com actaully has a nice table to look at the crafting bonuses.

The idea of leveling tailoring with enchanting just scares me. Since I know enchanting is what most tailors have a secondary skill… good luck.

Red to Green Winter Clothes

Met up with a fine Horde lock friend Oathbreaker… he was on Alliance side… which was odd. It came down to this…

Red Winter Clothes are crafted by Alliance tailors.
Green Winter Clothes are crafted by Horde tailors.

So he was in the hunt for Red Winter Clothes to smuggle to Horde side through the goblins.

I REFUSED! I refused to have him pay AH prices for something I could make easy. Luckily I had time right then since I wiggled myself out of running heroics for a bit. (Something about a “NO!” *refuse invite*.)

So the swap was for 1 Green Winter Clothes for every 1 Red Winter Clothes.

Easy enough.Sometimes I am not so hot with the quick simple math. But even I can immediately tell that a few are missing. He said he was out of the runecloth.

TWINK FAIL. Runecloth should always be in stock at large quantities for bandages.

*sniffle* That poor little mage. Surviving a brutal attack by a rogue to be only pew pewed by a hunter 4 seconds later… All because he didn’t have a bandage. *sniffle cry* ...Oh well.

I expect to have 4 Green Winter Clothes in my mail sooner then later. But maybe I should not trust someone who calls themselves… Oathbreaker.
